What forest properties we buy
We buy forest properties of different sizes and in different conditions. The forest does not need to be mature for harvesting. We assess the forest and land, access, restrictions and the property as a whole.
- Forest properties of all sizes
- Properties where forest and farmland are in the same cadastral unit
- Young and middle-aged forests, even when maturity is still decades away
- Partly harvested properties and clear-felled sites awaiting regeneration
- Forest properties with nature conservation or other restrictions
- Inherited forest land once the inheritance process has been completed
- Co-owned forest land when all owners agree to sell
How the price of a forest property is determined
The price of a forest property depends on more than its size. We assess the standing timber volume and assortment, species composition, growth potential, access, restrictions and the characteristics of the land itself. Our offer explains how the price has been determined.
- Standing timber volume and assortment show how much timber is growing on the property and how it is divided between sawlogs, pulpwood and other assortments.
- Tree species, age and site quality affect the forest’s growth potential and value.
- The share of mature forest and any harvesting restrictions affect the property value.
- A planted and well-tended young stand also adds to the value of the property.
- Access is assessed based on the condition of forest roads, year-round accessibility and forwarding distance.
- The presence and condition of drainage systems affect both forest growth and management options.
- Nature conservation restrictions, Natura areas and woodland key habitats affect what can be done on the property.
- The size, shape and integrity of the property affect how efficiently it can be managed and its overall value.
